Mountain Bike Chain Clicking. What would cause the chain to do this (see video)? Learn more about cleaning and maintaining your bike chain in our article, Bike Chain Cleaning and Maintenance.
When a road bike is properly set up and maintained, it should be relatively free of squeaks, creaks and clicking noises. The Yamaha YDX MORO electric mountain bike line shows off Yamaha's new patent-pending dual-twin frame design that features a split frame setup on both the top tube and the down tube. There are many reasons why your chain might be making noise, jumping around, or causing excessive vibration.
Consistent squeaking coming from your drivetrain could be a couple of different issues, but each involves making sure moving parts are well lubricated or greased.
The first thing to do is to remove the whole chain by using the chain breaker tool if the chain is still attached to the bicycle.
To fix a slipped bike chain, first, turn your bike upside down, as this will make it a lot easier to reattach the chain. Most bike owners, however, will have to diagnose an unusual noise at some point. Rotate the pedals of your mountain bike to wipe the chain free of debris and grime.
