Mountain Bike Chain Derailleur. Clutches are an innovation in mountain bike derailleurs which keep the chain on the gears even over bumps and jumps. I have a solution for you.
Look at the rear derailleur pulley wheels – you should see them jump if there is an issue with the chain. In order to fix a chain, each derailleur should be handled separately. If the chain looks and sounds right then it's usually following the correct path on the rear derailleur.
While pedaling the bike, locate the cable leading to your rear derailleur and pull on it gently.

Typically, quick changes in weighting and force can cause the chain to go slack, which makes noise and may result in a dropped chain. Derailleurs are the transmission of your bike. With the bike held off the ground, and the chain now on the largest cog at the back, test the front derailleur by moving the chain between the smallest and next chainring using the gear lever.
